Between June and September, the Washington D.C. Red Line underwent major construction. Coincidentally, the internship I just started required me to commute along this exact route. In a frustrating twist, the construction zone ended just one station before my final destination, adding an extra 30 minutes to my daily travel time. The frantic, exhausting experience of stepping off a crowded train full of D.C. professionals is perfectly encapsulated by this illustration.
