Richard Soben is a Cambodian illustrator based in Baltimore, MD. He graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) with a BFA in Illustration in May 2024 and currently works as a designer in Washington, D.C. He's currently working on recieving a certification in UX/UI at Designlab under their UX Academy program.
These days, Richard's work is divided between editorial illustration and personal projects. His recent work explores personal narratives, such as homesickness, job insecurity, and difficult life decisions, through stylized figures placed in unfamiliar or surreal environments.
When he’s not illustrating, Richard enjoys sipping coffee, cooking, reading, and caring for stray cats.
