Girl With The Lamb
I don’t often meet other Cambodian people. Before this, it had been over a year since my last encounter. I grew tired of that distance and decided to join a Facebook group for Cambodians living in the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area. Through it, I was invited to lunch and had the chance to connect with other Khmer folks. Among them was a mother and her daughter, Soraney, a small Cambodian girl who carried a llama plushie with her. I created this piece in response to the kindness and sensitivity Soraney showed me.
