Esses is an F1 lifestyle and culture magazine focused on untold stories within the Formula 1 community. They commissioned me to create an editorial portrait of Chris Pook, the key figure who brought Formula 1 racing to Long Beach. The brief called for a formal portrait with a subtle twist. I replaced the subject’s torso with a scene from the first Long Beach race in the early 1970s.
